THE STORY OF TheBu STARTS ON THE NORTH SHORE
Founder Gary Hawes, an avid surfer and biochemist, kept hearing about this drink called kombucha from his surfing buddies, who touted the way kombucha restored their energy after a long day in the waves.
As a scientist, Gary was naturally curious about this so-called wonder elixir. He tasted what was available at the time and knew that he could make something that provided the same benefits — and tasted way better. The quest to create TheBu began.
After conducting a head-spinning matrix of flavor experiments, Gary perfected his ‘booch recipes and launched the five energetic flavors of TheBu available today: honeydew, tangerine, chai spice, lavender and tropical.
