Hand-crafted, high quality, hot air roasted coffee! The best cup you may ever have.
Hot air roasting… some coffee snobs turn their nose up at it, and some love it. To simplify the understanding of the process, our roasting process involves utilizing increasing air temperature, up to 530 degrees (F.) at times in order to roast the beans without the fear of giving them an ashy or burned taste. The beautiful part of our roasting is that with the control we have over air flow, temperature, loft, etc. we have been able to dial in the peak point of flavor with each of the beans we roast. On top of that we roast in small batches, which allows us to keep quality at the top possible level and maintain a quality seldom seen in commercial coffee roasting. I challenge you to try our coffee, my bet is that once you try it you’ll be a believer!
At Virginia Commonwealth Roasters we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We do however take our coffee seriously. We’ve spent the last 3 years building not only connections within the coffee arena to give us access to great green coffee but also developing our roast spectrum and our own personal touch on the coffee industry.
Along with our regular blends VCR is committed to providing both an eclectic assortment of small batch samplings as well as an ongoing commitment to incredible single origin coffees roasted to the peak of their individual perfection. This medium bodied coffee is a great anytime coffee. Medium roast, fair complexity without being hard to drink. I tend to drink at least a cup a day of this rocking roast!
This is a light roast, even bodied coffee with a hint of nuttiness. GREAT coffee for that first cup early in the morning, with just a touch more caffeine than the average dark roast to help get things started fast.
This great coffee features the same bean blend as our ever loved Day Break, however we roast some of the beans a bit darker to give it a bit different, toasty flavor. GREAT coffee for an afternoon drink, even drink, or hey, anytime you want some complex roasty goodness!
Kenyan Peaberry This is a light roast but instead of the peanut butter we got from the Colombian I’m getting more of a dark chocolate fudge, or cocoa notes. GREAT flavor, different than any Peaberry in our arsenal to date! Due to the selectivity of this roast these are packaged in 8oz bags.
